Esquisse four – ‘Understanding form’

Using only cardboard provided (no glue or fixings) create a:

- ‘Structural’ system that is strengthened under load

- Provides a seat and possibly a back support

- Works within standard seating proportions

Esquisse three – ‘Locking systems’

Using only cardboard (no glue or fixings) create a:

- ‘Locking system’ that is strenghthened under load

- Has minimum height of 200 mm

- Relies on geometry rather than brute force

- Relies on minimal material weight to strength ratio

Esquisse two – Understanding form

Using only the 100 mm x-board craft provided (no glue or fixings) construct and document the following:

- A five sided pyramid 100 x 100 x 100 mm

- Calculate the correct geometry to ensure it remains within these dimensions (use trigonometry or real world modeling)

- Consider the flat pattern of the pyramid and angles to cut.

Esquisse one – Understanding material

Using only the 10 mm x-board craft provided (no glue or fixings) construct and document the following:

- An open ended cube 100 x 100 x 100 mm

- Each corner to use a different folding technique

- A locking method to hold the cube closed
